Weekly Tip: Go Green

In light of how much green we'll see this week, I thought a different type of green design would be perfect for today's tip! I've spent quite a bit of time studying up on sustainable design. It never hurts to help keep the environment clean right?! A few easy ways to incorporate sustainable {green} design are:

1. Choose low-impact materials. What "low-impact" means is non-toxic, recycled, natural materials -- especially when they do not require a lot of energy to process.
2. Buy quality products. Look for products that are durable,  functional, and will be long-lasting. Doing this will limit the frequency of replacing items as well as lowering the impact it makes to reproduce the products.
3. Upcycle and recycle! Incorporate/make products made of recycled materials.
4. Try to buy low-VOC {volatile organic compounds} paint. It can be found at most hardware stores.
5. If nothing else, just remember the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
