I love getting client emails with updates on the design process. It's so fun to see the room come together and to hear the excitement of the homeowners!
This email came in a little while ago. The only existing items in this living/entry were the couches and the Boston subway art [and the cutest dog ever]. Everything else is new! A few challenges we were facing were tall ceilings and a large window. The white shelving unit helps balance out the window. The gallery wall helps fill wall space and create a focal point for the room. What's left? A little accessorizing on the shelves, a wingback chair reupholstered in a gorgeous solid coral fabric, and this space is done!
This second update came this week. The client needed a few additions to spruce up the living room. One area of concern was the fireplace mantel. It just needed a little something to make it look finished. As you can see, the client already owned the art and the white vase with greenery. The mantel needed a little more weight to balance out the art. I suggested removing the clear glass candlesticks because they were too light and airy and adding the three mercury glass candlesticks to one side of the art, while keeping the white vase with greenery and adding the pitcher and framed art print to the other side. The vase and frame allow her to switch the foliage and art out according to the season, which she did beautifully for the Fall season.
