Did you know that 1 in 3 women worldwide suffer from domestic abuse? And did you know that in Ukraine that statistic is almost doubled? Unfortunately, the resources available to these victims are scarce. Even law enforcement will turn its back. Which is not ok.
The founders of Courage to Hope sought out the few safe shelters there are, and have done wonders over the last six years to provide these shelters with the help they so desperately need to continue running.
In 2009, Jesse (my hunny) had the opportunity to go to Ukraine with Courage To Hope. He was able to see the shelters where these women and children can find refuge. He met many of the victims. He heard their horrific stories.
But he also witnessed the ray of hope these shelters, and Courage To Hope, offer. The impact it had on him was deep, and he has since shared that with me through his stories and pictures. Together we have committed to continue helping their efforts to help these families.
With the turmoil that is happening in that part of the world right now, these shelters are facing some steep mountains. They need our help.
A few weeks ago we sat down with one of the founders, and made this video.
